Description

TL 4843 ICKLETON CHURCH STREET (North side) 21/227 No. 20 22.11.67 (Saxon Lodge) GV II House. Late C15 or early C16 with C17 alterations and additions; C19 conversion to two dwellings and C20 renovation. Timber-framed and plastered with plastered plinth. Plain tiled roofs. Large ridge stack with rebuilt grouped shaft and end stack to right hand also with grouped shaft. Two storeys and cellar. Original hall with axial two storey range, inserted C17 stack, and floor to hall. C20 door in lobby entry position with brick steps, small C20 oriel window blocks C19 doorway, two casement windows to right hand and six first floor casement windows. Interior. Exposed timber-frame with reused medieval timber in C17 reconstruction and extension. C17 panelling. Vennillion red paint traces in first floor room.
