Description
This is a house, likely dating to the late 15th or early 16th century, with substantial rebuilding in the 17th century and reusing medieval timbers. It is timber-framed and now plastered with 20th-century pargetted render over a brick core. The roof is tiled with a fish scale pattern, with a tall rectangular ridge stack. The main range is two storeys high with attic space, while a single-storey rear wing, possibly of 15th-century origin, was remodelled in the 17th century and served as a kitchen. A 20th-century door is located in a lobby entry position, and there are three ground floor and four first floor casement windows, as well as two hipped dormer windows. Inside, the exposed timber-frame reveals reused moulded 16th-century floor beams, and there is a late 17th-century butt-purlin roof and stacks. One first-floor room has a moulded plaster cornice and an ornate chimney piece featuring thistle and fleur de lys motifs.
