House. C16 and late C17 with C19 alterations. Timber-frame cased in C19 brick with front elevation painted. Plain tiled roof. Gault brick ridge stack to right of centre. Two storeys, and attic. Ground floor of front elevation partly rebuilt with main entrance to right of centre in C20 wooden doorcase with panelled door. Four twelve-paned hung sash windows in cambered brick arches and three similar but smaller first floor windows. Dentil brick eaves cornice with pilastered brick quoins. Interior: exposed timber-frame shows two building periods, inserted floors, C17 hearths and part of staircase to attic floor. Original building altered to lobby entry plan and raised in late C17 to two storeys. In 1677 the property was bought by Thurgar a rope maker, and in 1840 converted to a house and shop.
