Description
No. 6 Church Street is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, which was originally a house and shop. It was enlarged in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed and cased in painted brick, featuring a steeply pitched tiled roof that is raised at the rear. There is an 18th-century ridge stack. The layout consists of three rooms with an entry at the low end of the central bay. The house has two storeys and three recessed hung sash windows, with a shop front on the left side. Inside, the wall and ceiling framing is exposed, and many of the timbers have been re-used.
