Description
White's Farmhouse is a mid-17th century cottage located on the west side of High Street in Little Shelford. It features a timber frame that is plaster rendered, set on a brick plinth, and has a half-hipped thatched roof made of combed wheatreed. The ridge stack has been rebuilt. The cottage has a three-bay and lobby entry plan, with its gable end facing the road. It is one storey high with an attic and includes one dormer. The original plank door with iron fittings is located at the entry opposite the stack.
Inside, little of the framing is visible, but the cottage retains its original layout, including the partition wall between the pantry and the buttery, which is now used as a kitchen. The inglenook hearth and a smaller hearth for the parlour have been sealed off. The staircase remains in its original position beside the chimney stack.
