Description
The Constitutional Club, located at 12 New Street, is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features a double front with three windows. It has a slated roof with projecting eaves and is constructed from gault brick, although the ground floor at the north end has been altered and painted. A plain band runs along the first floor, which has gauged flat brick arches above recessed sash windows; the first-floor windows include glazing bars and margin lights. There is a three-light window at the south end of the ground floor. The central three-bay entrance has been converted for use as a window, and a new entrance has been created at the north end. The building is part of a group with Nos 10 to 18 (even).
