Description
Nos 21 and 23 on High Street are mid-19th century buildings that were formerly one structure. They rise three storeys with a basement and feature four windows. The buildings are constructed of yellow stock brick and have a stucco cornice and blocking course. The first and second floor casement windows are architraved, with the first floor windows adorned with cornices. The ground floor of No 21 has a modern stone bank frontage, currently occupied by Lloyds Bank. In contrast, No 23 retains its original wooden shopfront, which includes pilasters supporting an entablature decorated with wreaths in the fascia-frieze; however, the shop window and doorway have been altered. The entablature extends over a prominent entrance that separates the two premises.
