Description

This listing describes a pair of late 18th century cottages located 50 yards southwest of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Church Close, Hilton. The cottages are timber-framed and rough-cast rendered, topped with a thatched roof featuring a central ridge stack. They stand two stories tall and have a range of four horizontal sliding sash windows with fixed leaded lights, where the glazing bars end in pointed heads. There are four similar windows on the ground floor. Each cottage has a central plank door, which is sheltered by later open-sided porches that incorporate earlier woodwork. Additionally, there is a modern single-storey extension on the right side of the cottages.
