Description
Church Cottage and Abbots Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, with some features from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are constructed of coursed rubble and have coped verges, topped with double-Roman tile roofs and three brick ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and have a layout of three bays on one side and two on the other. The windows are three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, set under wooden lintels. Each cottage has a central door opening; the left cottage features a plank door, while the right has a half-glazed door. There is a lean-to structure on the extreme right, which has paired plank doors. These cottages are included in the listing primarily for their group value with the nearby Church of St Mary the Virgin.
