Description
Nos. 22, 24, and 26 Duck Street is a row of three cottages that were originally one dwelling, which has been extended and altered. The cottages date from the 17th century and the mid-19th century. They are built from coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings and feature a thatched roof with a parapet gable facing the street. The western ridge stack has a pair of ashlar shafts with brick coping, while the eastern ridge stack has a pair of brick shafts. The buildings are one storey with attics and originally followed a three-unit plan with a lobby entry that has been extended to the west by two bays.
The front features three boarded doors, two of which have chamfered lintels, and there are two casement windows to the left with similar segmental stone arches. To the right, there are two more casement windows. In the attic, there are two casement windows and one blocked window, along with three eyebrow-type gabled dormer windows. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered axial beam and sealed hearths.
