Description
Horace Friend Warehouse Number 2 is an early 19th-century warehouse located on Nene Quay in Wisbech. It is constructed of local brick and features a hipped slate roof, which was extended to the east in the 20th century. The building stands five storeys tall with a basement and has a gable facing the street. There are blind windows on the left side at each storey, and a central boarded door is present on each floor except for the fourth. The fourth floor has four windows, while each of the other floors has three similar casement windows set in cambered gauged brick arches. Notably, the original rear elevation includes a pair of very fine metal-panelled and studded doors, which are said to have been taken from the 19th-century model prison designed by G. Basevi.
