Description

This is a mid-19th century house and shop, with an earlier 18th-century range at the rear. The building is of two storeys and double pile construction. The front facade is of gault brick with a slate roof and end stacks. It features a dentil eaves cornice. The first floor has a range of three hung sash windows with margin glazing bars. At ground level, there are two similar sash windows to the left, alongside two four-light shop windows that flank a recessed doorway. The shop window and doorway share a common entablature, which incorporates three shaped frieze panels, shaped side panels, and pairs of console brackets. A detached rear range is constructed of red local brick with a red pantile roof. This range has two hipped dormer windows with an old plain tile roof and leaded light casements; it also has two hung sash windows with glazing bars, and a chequered brick band separates the two storeys.
