Description
This is a mid-19th century range of shops with a public hall located to the rear. The building follows a T-shaped plan and is constructed of gault brick, with a slate roof. The roof is finished with a parapet and a triangular pediment over the slightly projecting central bay. The building is two storeys high. The first floor has a seven-window arrangement of hung sashes, featuring a central glazing bar. Pilasters mark the corners, and the three central bays have a plain entablature. The ground floor mirrors this design with similar pilasters and an entablature. Modern shop fronts have been installed on the ground floor. A central double doorway is topped with a rectangular fanlight. The public hall is not included as part of the listed building.
