Description
The Cross Keys Inn is a late 17th century or early 18th century house located on Market Hill. It is constructed of red brick, with some parts rendered and colour-washed. The front features applied timber framing. The roof is slate, adorned with a modillion eaves cornice and parapet gables, and there are end stacks. The building stands two storeys high, with a band between the floors. On the first floor, there is a range of three horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars set in moulded architraves. The ground floor has two hung sashes with glazing bars in cambered arches. The central doorway is topped with a later flat hood. Additionally, there are two early 18th century elliptical openings on the right-hand gable end, which are now sealed.
