Description

The George Hotel is a mid-18th century building located on High Street. It is constructed of narrow gault brick and features a slate roof with parapet gables and end stacks. The hotel stands two storeys high with attics and has five hipped dormers, which have later hung sashes with a central vertical glazing bar. There is a band above the first floor, and the first floor includes a range of five larger sash windows set in cambered arches, each with projecting key blocks. A later door is positioned to the left, complete with a flat doorhood.
