Description

No. 1 High Street is a late 18th-century house dated 1762, as indicated by a plaque on the right-hand gable end. The house is constructed of narrow gault brick. The roof is largely tiled, with later sections displaying a fish-scale pattern, parapet gables, and crested ridge tiles. It features end stacks. The building is two storeys high with attics, incorporating two hipped dormers. The symmetrical front facade has three windows, each a hung sash with glazing bars set within a moulded architrave in a cambered arch. The front door consists of four raised and fielded panels, with two glazed upper lights, set within a shouldered architrave. A flat door canopy is supported by small metal brackets.
