Description

This is a mid-19th century house and shop, built on the site of an earlier 17th century timber-framed building, located on the north side of High Street in Earith. The building is constructed of gault brick with a low-pitched slate roof and end stacks. The front elevation has two first-floor sash windows with glazing bars set within moulded architraves, and cambered, gauged brick arches above. A similar window is located to the left of the front door. The doorcase features plain pilasters, a frieze with a Greek fret motif, and corner bosses. The front door is six-panelled. To the right, a shop window and door are set within cambered, gauged brick arches. The rear range has a red pantile roof. Inside, the building contains a large inglenook hearth and a chamfered ceiling beam.
