Description

This is a terrace house built around 1797 as part of the planned circular layout of the Castle Estate in Wisbech, designed and constructed by Joseph Medworth. The house is constructed of local brown brick with a slate roof and a side stack. It is three storeys high with a basement, and has three bays. It features a stone coping to the parapet and a stone cill band. The windows are recessed sash windows without glazing bars, set within cambered, gauged red brick arches and stone cills. Two windows are painted blind. The second-floor windows are smaller than those below. The wooden doorcase has fluted pilasters and a broken pediment, sheltering a 19th-century four-panelled door with radial glazing bars to a round-headed fanlight. A Royal fire insurance plaque is affixed to the building.
