Description

Nos. 5, 6, and 7 Market Street are part of the Castle Estate Development, built between 1793 and 1816. These three shops form a terrace, with a carriageway leading to No. 5. The buildings are constructed of local brown brick, while No. 5 is roughcast and painted. They feature a parapet with stone copings. The first and second floors have eight blind windows and hung sash windows that are set back in cambered gauged red brick arches, some of which still have their glazing bars intact. The ground floor has three modern shopfronts. These buildings are included for their group value alongside Nos. 1 and 2 Market Street.
