Description
This is a terrace house built around 1800 as part of the planned Castle Estate circus in Wisbech, designed by Joseph Medworth. It is one of six houses built together. The house is constructed of local brown brick with a red pantile roof and a side stack. It has three storeys and a basement. A shallow parapet has stone copings. A painted stone cill band runs along the first floor. The second floor has three nine-paned recessed sash windows within cambered, gauged red brick arches with painted reveals and stone cills. The first floor has three and the ground floor has two twelve-paned hung sash windows in similar openings. The wooden doorcase has fluted pilasters, a broken pediment, a plain round-headed fanlight, and a six-panelled door. Inside, a blocked archway reveals an original bay window on the rear elevation. A plain, closed-string staircase has a Chinese Chippendale balustrade panel. There is an original six-panelled door and panelled window case.
