Description

No. 2 Sand Street is a lodge built around 1825 in the cottage ornee style. It is constructed of brick, which has been painted, and features a thatched roof that is now covered in corrugated iron, topped with an octagonal ridge stack. The building has deep eaves supported by wooden posts with rustic bracing, creating a loggia. It consists of a main range with a service wing at the rear and a small vestibule at the front. The lodge is a single storey and has pointed arches above four casement windows on either side of the doorway.
