Description
The Red Lion Public House is an inn dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with extensions and alterations made in the 19th century. The gable end features wrought iron initials "T.C." and the building is constructed from local narrow red and yellow brick, with grey gault brick used for the 19th-century additions. It has a thatched roof made of combed wheat reed, complete with end parapets and side ridge and end stacks. Originally designed in an L-plan, the building has been extended to the right. It has one storey and attics, with three gabled and two hipped dormers, all from the 19th century. There are two doorways and five casement windows. The building is included for its group value.
