Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Clay Street in Soham. The house is constructed of yellow gault brick and has a steeply pitched roof covered in red tiles. The roof features parapets on kneelers and end stacks. The gable end is marked with the initials "G.F." in wrought iron.

The house is two storeys high, with a band separating the ground and upper floors. Two 20th-century windows are set within the original openings on either side of a blocked central window. The original windows are twelve-pane hung sashes, set within segmental arches. Above the central doorway, which has a moulded architrave and flat hood, are two original hung sashes of twelve panes each. The front door is a late 18th or early 19th-century design, consisting of two raised and fielded panels, two flush panels, and two small glazed panels.
