Description

This milestone, located about 150 yards south of Cromwell House on High Street in Trumpington, dates back to 1729. It is the second in a series of 16 stones established along the old London road according to the will of Dr. Mowse of Trinity Hall. The milestone features only a faint trace of the shield bearing the arms of Trinity Hall. For further context, it is related to Trumpington Road and the church of St Mary-the-Great.
