Description

ST JOHN'S COLLEGE 1. 942 TL 4458 NE 3/387 18.5.67. Master's Lodge II 2. 1863. By Sir G G Scott. Built of red brick with diagonal lines in blue brick. Stone dressings. Gothic windows with trefoil heads and cusping. Embattlements. Gables. The windows are of two and three-lights, four-light window above the door. Grouped Tudor chimneys. Incorporates oriel window of old lodge. In entrance hall early C16 moulded ceiling beams, linen-fold panelling and a large Elizabethan fireplace probably from Audley End. On staircase five moulded and slightly decorated ceiling beams; in first floor study linen fold panelling of 1567 and earlier moulded ceiling beams.
