Description
Deans Yard is a terraced house built in 1862 by Sir George Gilbert Scott. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof, showcasing a plain Gothic style. The building has three storeys, a basement, and a gabled attic, and it is three windows wide. To the right, there is a recessed entrance bay approached by steps, which contains a two-centred arched shafted doorway. The windows are mullioned and transomed, with cusped heads above the casement lights. The building also has a weathered saddlestone on the kneelers and stone-dressed chimney stacks with offsets. Deans Yard is included as part of a group of buildings designed by Scott for the Church and Westminster School, and it features ornate cast iron Gothic area railings.
