No 21 Dean's Yard (with Abbey Shop) G.V. II

Offices and shop range to rear flanking the lower part of the Jerusalem Chamber onto Broad Sanctuary. c.1800 built as offices for the Dean and Chapter, the north end altered as Abbey Shop 1954-56. Brick with stone dressings. Tudor-Gothic style. 3 storeys, basement and dormers. Asymmetrical 2 window wide front. Left hand porch with steep coped gable above 4-centred stone archway. Full height canted bay with stone mullioned and transomed leaded iron casements with arched Tudor-Gothic heads to lights. Weathered strings and parapet with weathered coping. Single storey buttressed rear wing with parapet, 1950s Georgian Gothic fenestration for Abbey Shop. Cast iron Gothic area railings. Included for group value only in relation to Scott's terrace.
