Description

This is a range of cottages, originally dating to around 1830-40, now combined into two dwellings, located on the west side of Meadow Lane. The group has an eight-window front. The cottages are constructed of coursed stone, and are one storey high with attics. Most have stone mullion windows with glazing bars, and ledged doors. Nos 5 and 7 may be slightly older than the rest. These have a slate roof, and feature four gabled dormers with pierced bargeboards. Nos 1 and 3 have thatched roofs with stone coping to the gable ends, along with gabled dormers – two are stone, and two are of wood with ornate pierced bargeboards. Large end stacks are present, with octagonal or square shafts.
