Description

  1. 5141 MAXEY KING STREET Bridge over Mill Stream about 135 yds east-north-east of Lolham Mill TF 10 NW 3/384 II 2. Small C18 bridge, probably rebuilt in C19. Stone rubble with round arch, Low parapet with stone coping. Scratched on the coping are initials "IF" and date 1797 or 1777 and more initials which are illegible and date 17??. and "John Fr" and date 1727. The inference from this is that the coping is C18 and this has been reused from an earlier bridge on the site - the present one being probably later C19.
