Description
No. 43A on King Street is a former maltings building, dating back to 1786, which has been altered in the 20th century. The structure is made of coursed and banded limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and dressings. It features a Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped gables. The building is two storeys high with a loft. The gable facing the street has double planked doors, along with a planked opening and a louvred opening, all of which have timber lintels. In the gable, there is a diamond-shaped ashlar datestone displaying the initials HJA and the date 1786, surrounded by a circle with acanthus leaves. The side front of the building includes five boarded openings.
