Description
39 King Street is a house built in 1790, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features coursed squared limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings, and a Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped gables and two double shafted ashlar gable stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high with attics, presenting a three-bay front with a plinth. The central entrance has a 20th-century window set in a semi-circular headed doorway, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor contains three similar windows, all of which have flat stone arches. The roof includes two hipped dormers with two-light glazing bar casements and slate hung cheeks. To the left, there is a single-storey, single-bay service block with a pent roof that contains a single window.
