Description

House, likely dating from late 1798. Altered in the 20th century. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped gables and two ashlar gable stacks with moulded tops. It is two storeys and has attics, with a three-bay front. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with an overlight, wood panelled reveals, and a segmental headed hood with a decorative wooden tympanum. Flanking the door are single three-light casement windows to the ground floor, and two similar windows to the first floor. All windows are set within moulded ashlar architraves. Two gabled dormers are visible in the roof, each containing a casement window with slate-hung cheeks. A square datestone, bearing the initials “MF 1798,” is set into the left-hand gable.
