Description
Tyrrells End Farmhouse is a Grade II* listed house, likely dating from the 15th century, with later modifications. The building features a timber-framed structure, with very close studding at the left-hand end. Most of the walls are finished with colourwashed plaster, except for some red brick infill on the right-hand gable end. Part of the right bay has been rebuilt in brick and is also covered with colourwashed render. The roof is covered with clay tiles.
The farmhouse has a four-room plan and stands two storeys tall. On the ground floor, there are two three-light casement windows with leaded lights and one two-light casement window with glazing bars. The first floor features three original diamond mullion windows (now glazed), one three-light leaded casement, and one two-light casement with glazing bars. The left-hand side has a four-panel door, while the right-hand side has a six-panel door, both dating from the 18th century and featuring simply moulded architraves.
The left gable end has a slightly projecting window on the ground floor, which is an almost oriel window with four lights, diamond mullions, and a decorative moulded cornice. Additionally, there is a five-light mullioned window on the ground floor and a leaded casement window on the first floor. The farmhouse has two red brick ridge stacks, with the left one having been rebuilt.
