Description
Tyrrells End Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century, with modifications made in the late 18th and 19th centuries. Originally divided into two properties, the cottage features a substantial timber-framed structure. The front is clad in red brick, which is mottled with vitrified bricks, while the rear has red brick infill. It has a hipped thatched roof and a four-room plan, with the left-hand room being a later addition. The cottage is one storey high with attics.
On the ground floor, there are two three-light casements and one two-light casement. The attic includes two eyebrow dormers, each with semi-circular three-light casements. There is a 20th-century door and an open porch on the left-hand bay. A blocked doorway is located in the centre, aligned with a red brick ridge stack that serves a back-to-back hearth. The right-hand window has replaced a doorway. At both ends, the roof hip extends down over single-storey weatherboarded outbuildings.
