Description

Brook End House is a 17th-century house with alterations from the 19th century. Parts of the house are timber-framed and parts have been recased or rebuilt using colourwashed brick, with colourwashed brick infill in the timber frame. The roof is tiled. The house is two storeys high and arranged in a T-plan. It has 2- and 3-light casement windows with glazing bars; five windows are on the ground floor and four on the first floor. Two of the ground-floor windows are shallow bays. A 20th-century door, protected by a sloping hood supported on curved brackets, is centrally located on the main block of the house. A red brick integral stack is on the right-hand gable end, and a red brick multiple ridge stack is situated on the main block at the junction with the left-hand cross-wing.
