Description
Ivy Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, with a red brick bay on the right-hand side. The roof is tiled with pantiles, featuring stone and brick coped gables. There are several brick stacks, one red and one with an ashlar detail and moulded cornice. The front of the farmhouse is irregular, with four bays. It features a central half-glazed door, a three-light window to the left, and a canted bay with a hipped roof made of Collyweston slate to the right, alongside a further three-light window. The first floor has two three-light windows and two two-light windows. All windows are plain casements with timber lintels. A reset window head from the mid-13th century is set into the left-hand gable; it features two pointed lights, columned reveals, a circular pierced tympanum, a moulded head, and a hood. The right-hand gable, built of red brick, has external steps leading to a first-floor garret where farm servants once resided.
