Description
Lakeside Cottage is a cottage located on the Shuttleworth estate, dating from the 18th century, with a 19th-century addition and alterations. It features a timber-framed construction with colourwashed roughcast render on the exterior and a mottled red brick addition to the north. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The cottage has a two-room plan, is one storey high with attics, and has a south elevation that includes a central part-glazed door flanked by two-light casement windows. There are three dormer windows, each with two-light casements, and all openings have pointed-arched heads, with the dormer gables also following this shape. The right-hand room has a red brick integral stack, while the left-hand room has a rebuilt red brick external stack on the rear wall. The rear block features a variety of casement windows, some of which are from the 20th century.
