Description
Parsonage Piece is a house that was formerly a cottage on the Shuttleworth estate. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and was reworked in the early 19th century. The building is timber framed, with some substantial sections, and has a colourwashed roughcast render. It features an old clay tile roof and is designed in an L-shape over two storeys, with various 19th and 20th-century additions to the north and south.
On the southwest elevation of the main block, there are two windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, all of which are 2-light cast iron lattice casements. There is a 20th-century porch and door to the left-hand side. A red brick ridge stack with a moulded cornice and chamfered angles is also present. The same style of fenestration is found elsewhere on the building.
