Description
Swiss Cottage is a house that was originally a pair of cottages from the Shuttleworth Estate, built in the early 19th century in a picturesque style. The building is made of brick and has a colourwashed roughcast render. It features a hipped roof covered with fishscale tiles, adorned with terracotta decorative ridge cresting and finials. The structure is U-shaped, consisting of one storey and attics, with side wings that have semi-hexagonal ends. There are three round-headed dormers: one in the center and one in each side wing. The ground floor has three windows, one in the center and one in each side wing, all of which are 2-light casements with diamond leading. Each side wing has a six-panel door. The ends of the building have double integral stacks topped with decorative pots.
