Description
Orchard Grange is a house that was formerly the vicarage, built in the late 18th century with additions and alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of light mottled brick and features clay tile roofs. The main block has two storeys and attics, flanked by two-storeyed blocks that are set back from the main facade. The main block has a mansard roof, while the other blocks have hipped roofs.
The main elevation displays a five-bay facade with sash windows that have glazing bars, located on both the ground and first floors, and these are set under gauged brick flat arches. The first-floor windows are fitted with louvred shutters. The attic features five box dormers, each with two-light casements that also have glazing bars. The central doorway is topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars and is accompanied by a six-moulded panel door with sidelights, all beneath a flat hood supported by simple volutes. A brick band runs along the first floor level, and there are integral brick stacks at the gable ends. The same style of fenestration is found throughout the building.
