Description
No. 19 High Street is a Grade II listed cottage from the 17th century, which was later modified in the 19th century in the cottage ornee style. A plaque on the building indicates the year 1879 and features the Shuttleworth emblem. The cottage is constructed with a timber frame, covered in colourwashed roughcast render, and has decorative timber framing added in the 19th century. It has a thatched roof and a two-room plan, with one storey and attics.
On the southwest elevation, the ground floor features three windows, while the attic has two eyebrow dormers, all of which have paired pointed arched lights with diamond leading. There are also two pointed arched doors with diamond panelling. The roof has off-centre red brick paired diagonal ridge stacks. The road-facing gable end includes paired lights in the attic and a canted bay window on the ground floor, which has a corbelled base and hexagonal and diamond leading. This listing also includes the former No. 20.
