Description
24 and 25 High Street are a pair of cottages from the late 19th century, likely modified from an earlier structure. They feature a clay tile roof with decorative terracotta ridge cresting. The cottages have a four-room plan, are two stories tall with attics, and display a blend of classical and cottage ornee styles. The front elevation is enhanced by giant order pilaster strips. There are four three-light mullion and transom windows on both the ground and first floors, along with four gabled dormers that have two-light casements in the attic. All windows are cast iron lattice casements. The dormers and gable ends are adorned with wavy-edged bargeboards. The cottages have a central ridge stack and integral stacks at both gable ends, all topped with various Tudor style pots. They are included for their group value.
