Description

Warren Lodge is a cottage located on the Shuttleworth Estate, originally serving as an entrance lodge to Old Warden Park. It dates from the early 19th century and is designed in the cottage ornee style. The building features colourwashed roughcast render over brick and has a thatched roof. It is a single-storey structure with a narrow rectangular shape, including a canted projection to the south and a rectangular projection to the north, which has a canted bay at its center. The eaves project from both the north and south, supported by wooden posts. Most of the windows are rounded-arched casements that contain paired pointed arched lights. The west and east elevations include bull's eye windows with radiating leading. The south door, located in the central projection, has diamond panelling, while the north door is now concealed behind a 20th-century glazed porch. A rendered triple ridge stack is positioned at the center, with flues connected by a cornice moulding.
