Description

No. 49 High Street is a cottage from the Shuttleworth estate, originally built as a pair and later modified in the 19th century. It features timber framed construction with colourwashed roughcast render on the exterior and a thatched roof. The building has a four-room layout, consisting of one storey and attics. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light casement windows with leaded lights, while the attic includes two eyebrow dormers, each with 2-light leaded casements. The cottage has two plank doors, and the ground floor openings are framed with plain surrounds and shallow pediments. A central brick multiple ridge stack is present, along with plain bargeboards on the gable ends. This description also includes the former No. 50.
