Description

Nos. 47 and 48 on High Street are a pair of cottages from the late 19th century, likely a renovation of an earlier structure. They feature colourwashed roughcast over a timber-framed construction and have a clay tile roof with decorative clay ridge cresting and finials. The cottages have a four-room layout, with one storey and attics. The ground floor includes four two-light windows set within simple, slightly pedimented surrounds, while the attics feature two gabled dormers, each with two-light windows. All windows are cast iron lattice casements. There are two plank doors, also with shallow pediments. A central red brick multiple ridge stack with foliate pots serves as the chimney. The gable ends and dormers are adorned with plain bargeboards.
