Description
No. 46 High Street is a cottage from the mid-19th century, part of the Shuttleworth estate. It is constructed from mottled red brick and features a fishscale clay tile roof. The building has an L-plan layout, consisting of one storey and attics. On the ground floor, there are two 5-light windows, one located on the left-hand gable and the other on the right-hand block. The attic of the left-hand gable includes a 2-light window. All windows are made of cast iron lattice casements and have moulded stone labels with blank shields at the stops. At the angle of the building, there is a lean-to porch with a Tudor-arched opening, accented by yellow brick dressings, and a Tudor-arched panelled door. The roof features multiple brick ridge stacks, with flues that are linked by cornice moulding.
