Description
Brook House is a house located on Royston Street in Potton, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a square plan and is two stories high, with a slightly later bay added to the west that matches the original style. The main block has a three-window facade, with all windows being sashes that include glazing bars set under gauged brick flat arches. The ground floor windows are slightly wider than those on the first floor, which are adorned with ironwork balconettes in a latticework pattern.
The central porch is topped with a canopy hood supported by trelliswork that echoes the style of the balconettes, providing shelter for a part-glazed door and a semi-circular fanlight with ornamental glazing bars. The later right-hand bay has similar window designs but lacks the balconettes. The eaves are deep and panelled, featuring paired modillions, and there are multiple red brick ridge stacks.
