Description
This large threshing barn, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 40 metres north of Shefford Hardwick Farmhouse. It features a timber-framed construction with red brick infill and has a weatherboarded porch and lean-tos on the east elevation. The roof is covered with clay tiles and has a four-bay plan. It includes two levels of purlins, with the lower ones supported by queen posts and the upper ones by queen struts and a collar.
On the east elevation, the left lean-to and the two-storey porch have cart entrances, while the right lean-to has a plank door. The porch also features a plank loading door and a three-light window on the first floor. The west elevation displays a variety of windows, and a cart entrance has been blocked with weatherboarding and a plank door.
