Description
Garden Cottage is a picturesque estate cottage dating from around 1860. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features an old clay tile roof with moulded stone eaves brackets. The cottage has an L-plan layout and consists of one storey with attics. The gable ends have pierced, curling bargeboards with drop finials. The entrance front has a central projecting gable with moulded kneelers at the eaves. The windows are honeycomb pattern cast iron set in ashlar surrounds, with a single light casement in the first floor gable end. The ground floor includes a canted bay window to the left and a two-light mullioned casement to the right. The central doorway is topped with a gabled openwork hood supported by stone pilasters.
