Description
Hill Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a datestone that is now obliterated. There are 19th-century additions and alterations, and the datestone in the west front gable, marked J.84.J., may suggest that these works were completed in 1884, although the architectural style appears somewhat earlier. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features an old clay tile roof. It has two storeys and two large gables over the first-floor windows, which have brick dentil eaves. The first floor includes two three-light leaded casements with timber mullions and a high-level transom, situated beneath the gables. Additionally, there is a small single-light leaded window at the eastern end. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century gabled porch and a large bay window on the right side.
